Scotland's portrait artist Anne Power is holding her exhibition of conceptual life size paintings on display in the James Clerk Maxwell Room within The Royal Society of Edinburgh. This body of work will also include the first public exhibition of her portraits of Scotland's First Ministers, previously shown in the Scottish Parliament.
The purpose of this collection is to document a pictorial history of Scotland's leaders since the opening of parliament in 1999. There are five portraits in all comprising:- Donald Dewar, Henry McLeish, Lord McConnell, Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon.
Anne shows how her highly perceptive vision and concept of individuality, manifested in an intensely concentrated colour format, will delight the viewer, Her beautiful and varied depiction of the human form, physical expression, colour and flowing lines result in an experience that is positively uplifting to the senses.
